Know Your Spot

Water spots are minerals (mostly calcium and magnesium) left behind when hard water dries. How long they've sat there decides how hard they are to remove.

01
Easy

Fresh mineral film

Light white dots or a dull haze from sprinklers, rain or a car wash that dried in the sun. Sitting on top of the surface.

Fix: one pass with Spotless X2 (glass) or Dissolve X2 (paint).

02
Stubborn

Bonded deposits

Spots that survive a normal wash and a quick detailer. The minerals have built up in layers and bonded to the surface.

Fix: the remover plus a little dwell time and a second pass where needed.

03
Heavy

Years of buildup

Crusty rings, cloudy shower glass, "frosted" windows. Thick layers of scale, sometimes with light etching underneath.

Fix: work in small sections; expect 2–3 applications. Then protect with SFX1 so it doesn't come back.

Being honest: if minerals have physically etched into the glass or clear coat (a pitted surface you can feel with a fingernail), no chemical can fully undo that. Our removers take off everything that's sitting on the surface, which is usually most of what you see.

The lineup

Meet the Products

Three core bottles cover glass, paint and protection, and one pro coating is for enthusiasts. Always follow the directions on the label and test a small area first.

Spotless X2 glass water spot remover
Glass · 1,850+ sold

Spotless X2

The glass specialist. Dissolves hard water spots, mineral haze and red dirt film so glass goes clear again.

Use it on

  • Windshields, car windows, mirrors
  • Shower doors and home windows
  • Chrome, metal, porcelain, tile
  • Boat and RV glass

Best for

  • Spots that regular glass cleaner can't touch
  • Cloudy shower glass
  • Sprinkler spots on windows

How to use

  1. Start with a clean, cool surface, out of direct sun.
  2. Put a quarter-sized amount on a damp microfiber or applicator pad.
  3. Work it in over a small section with light pressure.
  4. Wipe off, rinse with water, and dry. Repeat on heavy spots.

Pro tip: on very old buildup, let it sit for a few seconds before wiping. Some customers find a soft non-scratch scrubber helps on thick scale.

Dissolve X2 paint water spot remover
Paint · 730+ sold

Dissolve X2

The paint specialist. Lifts water spots and mineral deposits off clear coat without a buffer or compound.

Use it on

  • Car paint and clear coat
  • Chrome and wheels
  • Trim
  • Boat and RV exteriors

Best for

  • Spots left after washing in the sun
  • Sprinkler and well-water spots on paint
  • Dark cars that show every spot

How to use

  1. Wash and rinse first; work on a cool panel in the shade.
  2. Apply to a microfiber applicator, not straight onto the paint.
  3. Work one small section at a time with light pressure.
  4. Wipe clean, rinse and dry. A second pass handles stubborn spots.

Pro tip: follow up with SFX1. Freshly cleaned paint is exactly when protection bonds best.

SFX1 nano ceramic coating spray
Protection

SFX1 Nano-Ceramic

The shield. A spray-on nano-ceramic layer that adds gloss and makes water bead and roll off, so new spots have a harder time sticking.

Use it on

  • Paint and glass
  • Chrome, plastic trim and wheels

Best for

  • Right after Spotless X2 or Dissolve X2
  • Keeping a freshly cleaned car spot-free longer
  • Quick gloss between washes

How to use

  1. Start with a clean, dry surface (ideally right after removing spots).
  2. Mist lightly onto one panel or a microfiber towel.
  3. Spread evenly, then buff to a gloss with a clean, dry microfiber.
  4. Reapply about every few months to keep the beading strong.

Questions

FAQ

Can I use Spotless X2 on paint?

Use Dissolve X2 on paint; it's made for clear coat. Spotless X2 is made for glass and hard surfaces like chrome, porcelain and tile.

Do I need a buffer or machine?

No. Both removers work by hand with a microfiber applicator. The chemistry dissolves the minerals, so you don't have to grind them off.

How many applications will I need?

Fresh spots usually come off in one pass. Years of buildup can take 2–3 applications, and customers mention that in their reviews too. Work in small sections.

Will it remove etching?

It removes the mineral deposits sitting on the surface. If minerals have physically etched into glass or clear coat, that damage can't be fully reversed with a chemical. It usually looks dramatically better, though.

Does SFX1 replace wax?

SFX1 is a spray-on nano-ceramic protectant that adds gloss and water beading. For long-term, enthusiast-level protection, see HybridCoat.

Which kit should I get?

Glass only: Glass Kit. Paint only: Paint Kit. Both, removal only: Paint & Glass Bundle. Everything plus protection: the Ultimate Bundle. Not sure? Take the 15-second quiz at the top of this page.

How fast does it ship?

Orders ship every day, weekends included, and arrive in 1–3 business days. Priority shipping is free on orders $50+ and on every kit.
